Travis Kelce’s bizarre Easter tweet amid ‘news blackout’ with Taylor Swift

As Travis Kelce and his girlfriend Taylor Swift maintain a low profile during this year’s Easter celebrations, fans have taken to social media to dig up a humorous blast from the past.  While the couple’s whereabouts remain a mystery-many suspect they are spending the holiday in Philadelphia with Kelce’s brother, Jason, who recently welcomed a new baby-one old tweet from Kelce has taken the internet by storm.  In 2010, a 20-year-old Kelce, then two years into his college career at the University of Cincinnati, posted a quirky Easter message:   “Happy Easter to all! Shoutout to Jesus for takin one for the team… haha.”

The tweet, which initially received 832 reposts, has since gone viral, with fans rediscovering it on Easter Sunday of 2025, 15 years later. One fan account shared a screenshot of the tweet, adding, “Happy Easter to those who celebrate.” The nostalgic post has given fans a small, humorous glimpse into the past while Kelce and Swift stay out of the spotlight.

Backlash over New Heights Podcast survey

While Kelce’s old tweet provided fans with a lighthearted distraction, the NFL star recently found himself at the center of controversy surrounding a survey posted by the creators of his New Heights podcast. The survey included questions referencing his relationship with Swift, which stirred up negative reactions from her fans.  Listeners were asked to choose reasons why they tuned in to the podcast, with options such as “I was drawn to the football-specific commentary and analysis of games” and “I was drawn to the Kelce family dynamic.”

However, the survey also included questions focused on Kelce’s relationship with Swift, including “I was drawn to the prospect of hearing details and clues about Taylor Swift’s life and her relationship with Travis.”  This didn’t sit well with many of Swift’s fans, who took to social media to criticize the podcast and its creators. One fan slammed the survey as “pathetic clout-chasing,” while another questioned, “Why would they do this? This is going to be so embarrassing.”  Despite the controversy, Kelce’s viral Easter tweet continues to bring joy to fans as they look back at his lighter moments before his personal life became the subject of widespread attention.
