Tyreek Hill has revealed that he didn’t want to wind down his window after being pulled over by police because he feared fans would take pictures.  The Miami Dolphins receiver told CNN that he was ‘shell-shocked’ after dramatic bodycam footage emerged showing the moment he was dragged from his car, pinned to the ground and handcuffed before Miami’s game against the Jaguars.

Miami-Dade police officers reacted with force after the NFL star handed over his ID and then wound up his window. But Hill explained why he was reluctant to keep his tinted window down.  ‘I’m not trying to cause a scene because if I let me window down, people walking by and driving by they’re going to know that it’s me and they’re going to start taking pictures,’ he said.  ‘I didn’t want to create a scene at all. I just really wanted to get the ticket and then go on my way and have a great Sunday.’

Hill added: ‘It was crazy – me being a father, me being a husband. I was just putting myself in that situation (thinking): Hey, I got to be smart. That’s why I really wasn’t on that kind of energy. I was chilling, I was following rules.’  Hill has previously hinted that he has up to 10 kids with multiple different women, including four born this year. His wife Keeta, meanwhile, is pregnant.

At the start of the bodycam footage, officers can be seen approaching Hill’s car. The receiver can be seen handing over his license before telling the cop to ‘do what you got to do.’  The 30-year-old then put his window up, prompting officers to tap on the car and tell Hill: ‘Hey, keep that window down!’

‘Keep your window down or I’m going to get you out of the car. As a matter of fact, get out of the car,’ one officer told Hill before another warned the receiver: ‘We’ll break that freaking window.’  Moments later, Hill was told: ‘We’re not playing this car, get out!’ An officer then opened the driver-side door and grabbed Hill.

The NFL star pleaded with cops – ‘I’m getting out!’ – but one officer put his hand towards Hill’s neck and dragged him out of the car. ‘Get out, GET OUT. What part of that do you not understand?’  Then, with Hill face down on the road, a cop put his knee on the receiver’s back and grabbed his hands as a fellow officer put on handcuffs.

The NFL star questioned the police’s conduct at the time, claiming they were ‘beating on my window like you crazy’.  Moments later, a car – carrying one of Hill’s teammates – pulled up. ‘What’s going on, bro?’ the receiver was asked. ‘The dude was beating on my window like he crazy. I ain’t do nothing to him,’ he responded.  After the footage appeared online, Hill posted on social media: ‘Let’s make a change’. The 30-year-old then spoke to CNN, admitting he was ‘shocked’ by what he saw.

‘It was crazy because it all happened so fast… I really couldn’t like gather everything that was happening,’ he said. ‘I’m still kind of shell-shocked from it. I’m embarrassed.’  He earlier spoke to NBC, insisting ‘it went from 0 to 60 immediately’.  ‘If I wasn’t Tyreek Hill, Lord knows… worst-case scenario, I would have been shot or would have been locked up’.

Cops could be heard telling Hill to ‘stop crying’ after dragging him out of his car.  ‘When we tell you to do something, you do it. You understand? Not what you want, what we tell you. You’re a little f****** confused,’ an officer told him.  ‘Take me to jail, brother. Do what you have to do,’ the NFL star told them.  A Florida police union claimed that Hill was driving dangerously when he was pulled over in Miami and that he was cuffed after refusing to cooperate. Hill said he has ‘no idea’ what sparked his detainment.

bdcam Miami cornerback Jalen Ramsey called for the police to immediately fire the officers involved

On Monday night, the Dolphins described the video as ‘both maddening and heartbreaking’. The team vowed to stand beside Hill and called for ‘swift and strong action’ against the officers guilty of ‘overly aggressive’, ‘violent’ and ‘despicable’ behavior.

Meanwhile, Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey called for Miami-Dade Police to immediately fire the officers involved.  Ramsey branded the cops ‘motherf***ers’ and wrote on social media: ‘FIRE EM IMMEDIATELY! Mfs like them can’t have no type of power, they gotta go!’  He added: ‘That s*** is crazy when you look at that bodycam footage more than once! I notice some new bulls*** every time.’

Another shocking clip even appeared to show an officer striking Hill on the sidewalk after he was detained, which led to accusations of racism from appalled fans on social media.  Amid the outrage, Miami-Dade Police revealed that an officer has been placed on administrative duties pending an internal investigation.
